MARiS Home

The MARiS Project stared in 1999 with the name of Raynux. Then in 2003 became MARiS and in September 2004 started with DPACS Project the Open Three Project (O3). During this period the name of the RIS Package was O3-MARiS. The 1st of July the O3 Project  forked two projects one coordinated by the University of Trieste (O3 Consortium) and one coordinated by the University of Padova (MARiS Project).

This fork is due to some different views about the business model about Open Source in Medicine, but one beautiful aspect of OS is the possibility to fork projects to offer to the Community the  freedom to choice. The two project will still collaborate together.
