DICOM and HL7

MARiS-OF supports different types of DICOM Services and HL7 messagging according to IHE Technical frameworks.

DICOM Modality Worklist

This DICOM service is developed in according with IHE Radiology Technical Framework RAD-5 transaction. When a radiologic examination request are checked-in it is immediately available to the acquisition modality. The requested procedured are grouped using StudyInstanceUID and Accession Number.

DICOM Query Images

This DICOM service is developed in according with IHE Radiology Technical Framework RAD-14 transaction. When a report is created it is possible to query the DICOM archive to obtain the information about the releted stored images.

DICOM Performed Procedure Step

This DICOM service is developed in according with IHE Radiology Technical Framework RAD-6 and RAD-7 transactions. When the modality sends the pps IN PROGRESS message the radiologic exam change from the status Checked-in to In Progress and MARiS-OF sends and HL7 ORM message to the Order Placer (transaction RAD-4). In the case of COMPLETED or SUSPEND the exam is placed in Executed or Stopped. It is also possible to use the APPEND message to add a performed procedure step from the modality. MARiS-OF can also forward the pps messages to the Image Manager and to the Report Repository.

This DICOM service is working progress and it is available from the next release.
